Voyager Model 1:35 add-on armor for the Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.M and N adds side and front armor plates to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers of military vehicles in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model. The set holds photo-etched metal parts of the add-on armor for a model of the German Pz.Kpfw.III tank in the M and N versions, that is the side skirts and the reinforcements that were fitted to the vehicles from 1943. It is cut for one particular kit, which has to be bought separately. Plastic skirts tend to be substantially thicker than the real thing, and that is exactly where swapping them for photo-etch shows most.
The side skirts, in German Schürzen, were meant to protect the running gear and the sides of the hull against anti-tank rifles and shaped-charge ammunition. They were of thin sheet steel, hung on rails, and in the field they were often lost or bent, which makes them a rewarding feature for a modeler: it is exactly their bending and the missing pieces that give a model its truth. The N version also carried a short gun of 75 millimeters intended to support infantry.
The set is intended for more experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
