A set of turned metal barrels for building the British aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal in 1:350 scale. It is not a kit of the ship but a metal detail accessory for models of the British aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. The barrels are fitted in place of the plastic parts of the armament from the box.
HMS Ark Royal was a British aircraft carrier built in the second half of the 1930s and used in the early years of the Second World War. The set contains the barrels of the main anti-aircraft and dual-purpose armament, that is the calibers where a faithful section and a drilled muzzle show most. Multi-barrel pom-pom mounts and machine guns gain markedly in fidelity from metal barrels.
Cut the plastic barrels off and clean up the mounts and the openings. Glue the metal barrels with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Treat the metal with a primer before painting. Because of the large number of tiny barrels, set aside enough time and work with tweezers.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The ship itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
