A plastic kit of the sailing warship Black Swan in 1:350 scale from Zvezda. It is a snap kit - the parts join by snapping together and hold without glue, so the model is accessible to beginners and to young people as well. The real subject is a two-masted sailing sloop from the age of sail; the manufacturer offers the ship as a pirate ship. In the package there are plastic parts and decals.
In the seventeenth century and the first half of the eighteenth, a small sailing warship of this type was an agile and fast vessel with a single gun deck, which could take on the order of up to two dozen guns. The two-masted rig gave such sloops good mobility; they served for reconnaissance, for escort and for patrolling at sea.
Even though the model joins without glue, the joints can be secured with a drop of glue for safety. Bring the hull and the decks out with a dark wash, which will run into the joints and pick out the planks of the deck. Assemble the masts, the yards and the rigging carefully and pull them taut - it is the rigging that makes a sailing ship into a striking model. For display we recommend obtaining a stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
