An injection-molded plastic kit of the French helicopter cruiser Jeanne d'Arc in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the characteristic after flight deck and the superstructure of this training and assault ship. According to the manufacturer the box contains photo-etched parts, decals and models of the shipboard helicopters, so a striking build has a solid basis straight out of the box.
The Jeanne d'Arc was a French helicopter cruiser that combined the role of an officer training ship with the ability to carry and operate several helicopters and to transport a landing party. She entered service in the mid-1960s and served the French Navy for several decades, among other things on long training cruises around the world. She was withdrawn from service around 2010.
Use thin cement on the plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Decide in advance between the full hull and the waterline version. Finish and paint the superstructures and the flight deck before final assembly; add the fine railings and antennas at the end. Lay down primer and spray the colors with an airbrush. The flight deck markings and a discreet service weathering look effective. Paint the shipboard helicopters separately and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
