An injection molded plastic kit of a sailing ship in 1:350 scale from the German maker Revell. The small scale makes the model a compact piece for a display case that does not take up much room and yet keeps the characteristic silhouette of a large sailing ship. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and cement for plastic, paints, fine thread for the rigging and basic modeling tools are needed to finish it.
Gorch Fock is the name of a German sail training ship meant for training young sailors. The ship has a white hull and sails on three masts, on which a crew learns the basics of working with rigging, yards and sails - skills that are not used on modern ships but that reliably teach teamwork and responsibility. Vessels of this type also serve a representative role: they take part in tall ship parades and foreign visits, where they are among the most striking ships in port.
On sailing ships patience decides everything. Paint the hull and the decks before you start on the masts - once they are in place the surfaces are hard to reach. Check the masts and yards against one another, so that they stand vertical and even. Run the rigging from fine thread or fiber, secure the ends with a drop of super glue and trim the excess. A model built in a small scale looks best on a simple stand or in a base representing the water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
