An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian battleship RN Vittorio Veneto in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model captures the elegant hull and the massive main armament of one of the most powerful ships of the Regia Marina. According to the manufacturer the package contains decals and parts for building the full hull as well as the waterline version; it is a striking and impressive model for a collection.
RN Vittorio Veneto was an Italian battleship of the Littorio class, one of the most modern generations of European battleships of the end of the 1930s. She was marked out by powerful guns of her main caliber and by high speed. In the Second World War she formed the core of the Italian battle fleet in the fighting in the Mediterranean and took part in a number of operations against the Royal Navy.
Use thin cement for plastic and build in subassemblies. Decide in advance between the full hull and the waterline version. Finish and paint the superstructures and the gun turrets before the final assembly; attach the fine railings and antennas at the end. Apply a primer and spray the paints with an airbrush. Italian ships typically wear a light finish, which you will want to complete with fine accenting of the panels and restrained weathering. Photo-etched railings make a suitable accessory.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
