A set of two AGM-130C missiles with the BLU-109 penetrating warhead and one AN/AXQ-14 data link pod in 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two missiles and one data link pod cast in resin. The letter C in the designation points to a different warhead from the one carried by the A variant. Here it is the BLU-109 penetrating charge.
The BLU-109 warhead has a thick-walled steel body and a fairly small explosive filling. It does not aim at an effect on the surface but is meant to pass through a layer of concrete or earth and burst only inside. The targets of a weapon like that used to be command bunkers, aircraft shelters and reinforced depots. A bunker of reinforced concrete withstands a hit from an ordinary charge, which bursts on the surface and scatters its energy into the surroundings. A rocket motor under the body pushed the range so far that the crew did not have to fly directly over the air defense systems. The rear seat of a two-seat machine meanwhile handled the picture from the seeker head.
Resin dust is fine and does no good to your health. Level the remains of the pour gates under a thin stream of water or with sandpaper soaked in water, or else with a respirator. Wet sanding also leaves the surface smoother and does not clog the paper. Wipe the finished castings once more with a damp cloth before painting, so that no sanding slurry sticks to them.
The set serves to finish off a machine already under construction. The aircraft and the pylons do not belong to it.
