The exhaust nozzle of the BAe Hawk T.1 trainer in 1:48 scale replaces the plastic part from a kit and gives the rear of a model real depth. Made for the Tamiya and Italeri kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory brings a separately cast tail section of the exhaust of the British Hawk trainer in the T.1 version. Against the part from the box it offers a through channel and a thin trailing edge, that is exactly what catches the eye first on a nozzle. The package holds only this element; you build the aircraft from a base kit, which the accessory improves. The accessory is made for the Tamiya and Italeri kits.
The Hawk is a British subsonic aircraft for advanced pilot training with a single turbofan and a low-set wing. From the second half of the 1970s the T.1 version formed the backbone of British pilot training, and in the red finish of the display team it is among the most photographed machines of all. The fuselage narrows markedly toward the rear, so the engine exhaust is easy to reach on a model and worth careful work.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry through. Separate the casting block with a saw, level the seating face on sandpaper laid on glass and glue the part on with cyanoacrylate. The inside of the nozzle looks best in a dark metallic shade with a hint of blue, and the outer ring will take light picking out of the edges with a dry brush. Do any fine sanding of resin wet, so that no dust is raised.
