The model in 1:48 scale is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The package holds plastic frets, clear parts for the canopy and a decal sheet with marking options. The kit comes from a modern mold with finely engraved surface detail.
The CF-188A is the Canadian variant of the American multirole F/A-18 Hornet fighter. The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) has operated these machines since the 1980s as the backbone of its fighter arm. The twin-engine Hornet with its digital avionics handles air superiority tasks as well as attacks on ground targets. The Canadian machines differ from the American version among other things in the placement of the identification light on the left side of the fuselage.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; the camouflage and the gray shades are best sprayed with an airbrush. We recommend finishing the cockpit and the nose landing gear before the fuselage is closed up. Decals sit better on a gloss clear coat.
