This resin wheel set from the Ukrainian maker Reskit is an aftermarket accessory for models of the Convair F-106A Delta Dart interceptor in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement for the plastic wheels that gives the landing gear a more convincing look. The castings have a faithful tread pattern and a fine flattening of the tire imitating the load of an aircraft standing on the ground.
The F-106 Delta Dart was a delta-wing interceptor from Convair, for many years the backbone of American air defense. It grew out of the F-102 concept and excelled in high speed and ceiling. The set matches the main and nose landing gear wheels of the A version.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the tire and the hub separately for a clean boundary.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
