Reskit 1:48 De Havilland Mosquito wheels set is a set of resin wheels for a model of the twin-engine De Havilland Mosquito in 1:48 scale. It is a detail accessory, not a kit.

This is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory in resin for a model of the Mosquito in 1:48 scale. The wheels are unusually exposed on this type: the landing gear legs retract into the engine nacelles and when a model is displayed with the gear down the main wheels are clearly visible both from the front and from the side. A plastic wheel from a mold has a parting line around its circumference which has to be sanded away - and part of the tread disappears with it. A resin replacement gets around that compromise, because it is cast so that the tread stays untouched.
The De Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine multirole aircraft with a structure built mostly on wood and plywood shells. It served in many roles - from reconnaissance through bombing tasks to night operations - and existed in a range of versions which differed in the nose, the armament and the equipment. The main landing gear retracted backwards into the engine nacelles, so the large main wheel is one of the visually prominent features of the lower part of the aircraft.
Before work, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting block off with a saw, not with pliers. Level the mating surface by sanding wet on a flat support - on a twin-engine aircraft with the gear in the nacelles the slightest misalignment shows up as the model standing twisted. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For the tire choose a dark gray shade instead of black and add a fine touch of dust in the color of the airfield your machine is to take off from. Set the hub apart; on a model in 1:48 scale it pays to use a circular mask. If the castings carry a suggested settling under the weight of the aircraft, turn both wheels the same way so that the flat part sits on the surface.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
