What you are building

The Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 is an American sports coupe, that is, a car with a long front end, a short rear and an unmistakable silhouette. The designation Z-28 was carried by the sharper, more sporting version of the Camaro range. This kit in 1:24 scale offers it in a form tied to the series Stranger Things, so it will please anyone who is building the model mainly because of the subject from the series.

What the build involves

This product is a kit, not a finished model. The parts are separated, cleaned up, glued and painted according to the manufacturer's instructions, and before the glue comes out it pays to dry-fit them. The order of work on a car is different from an aircraft: first the chassis and the interior are finished, and only then the body is seated on them, because once it is on you can no longer reach inside.

Building and painting tips

• Wash and degrease the body before painting, because fingerprints will show under the finish.
• Lay the paint down in thin coats and let them dry, because one heavy coat floods the edges.
• A glossy surface comes from the clear coat and from polishing it, not from a thicker coat of paint.
• Glue the glazing with a cement that does not cloud clear surfaces, and only at the end of the build.
• Paint the small parts before separating and gluing them, because you will reach them far more easily.
