A model of the British light two-seat aircraft de Havilland DH.94 Moth Minor in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The DH.94 Moth Minor is a British light aircraft of the end of the 1930s. Compared with the older machines of the Moth family, which were biplanes, it is a low-wing monoplane with a simple wooden structure and two seats in tandem. It was powered by an air-cooled de Havilland Gipsy Minor inline engine. The aircraft came about as an inexpensive machine for training and sport flying, and a number of examples found their way outside Britain as well.
A small civil aircraft is a rewarding modeling subject: it has clean shapes on which careful work with the surface comes out, and it tends to be available in varied civil colors that differ pleasantly from military camouflage. On a shelf among combat types, a small low-wing monoplane with tandem seats makes a welcome change.
First try the parts dry and go through the instructions, and only then glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly. With this type it pays to give time to the smoothness of the wing and to the joints of the fuselage, because glossy civil finishes reveal every imperfection; fill small gaps and sand them with a fine paper. Mask the windscreens and any glazing before spraying. The recommended glue and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers of civil and prewar aviation and for those looking for an unconventional accompaniment to a military collection in 1:48 scale. Paints, glue and other building material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
