F-16 A/C Fighting Falcon 1:48 from Academy - an injection-molded plastic kit of the American multirole fighter with the option of building the A or the C version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American multirole fighter General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon in 1:48 scale from Academy. The tooling contains parts that allow the machine to be built in the A version or in the later C version. The model has a well-worked cockpit, detailed landing gear and gear bays, and surfaces with finely engraved panel lines.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engined light multirole fighter with a characteristic bubble canopy and a ventral air intake under the fuselage. It entered service at the end of the 1970s and became one of the most widespread combat aircraft in the world, used by the US Air Force and by a number of allied countries. It was powered by a single jet engine with an afterburner; the machine stands out for its high agility and its ability to carry out air-to-air as well as air-to-ground tasks. Compared with the original A, the C version brought modernized avionics and systems.
Before starting, think out which version (A or C) you want to build and choose the right parts. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Mask the cockpit and the canopy carefully before varnishing. Apply primer and spray the gray camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats; the fine panel lines come alive with a discreet wash. Paint the underwing armament and the drop tanks separately and fit them only once the base coat is finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
