An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat version of the American multirole fighter F-16D in the Block 30/40/50 forms of the US Air Force in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. The set belongs to the more elaborate line of the manufacturer and contains, among other things, a generous set of underwing ordnance and tanks, detailed cockpits and a decal sheet. It allows a two-seat machine with the lengthened canopy over both cockpits to be built.
The F-16D is the two-seat variant of the popular F-16 fighter with a second cockpit for an instructor or another crew member, a lengthened canopy and a smaller internal fuel load. Blocks 30, 40 and 50 differ in engines, avionics and capabilities; together they cover the capable multirole machines of the US Air Force, able to fight in the air and to deliver precise strikes against ground targets. The two-seat D machines are used for training and for more demanding combat tasks as well.
Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and sand the joints of the fuselage and the air intake carefully. Finish both cockpits and the instrument panels before the fuselage is closed up, and use masks on the long glazing. Plan out the pylons and the ordnance according to the scheme you choose. Spray the gray camouflage schemes of the US Air Force with an airbrush after applying a primer, lay a gloss coat under the decals and finish the weathering by letting a wash flow into the fine engraved lines.
