3D printed air intakes for the model of the F/A-18 Hornet fighter in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Reskit – a detail accessory for experienced modelers, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of 3D printed (resin) air intakes for the American F/A-18 Hornet carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Reskit. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified parts from the base kit with a faithful replica having a smooth internal duct and the correct shape of the intake. The set is intended for experienced modelers.
On plastic models the air intakes to the engines tend to be shallow and without internal ducting, so you can see straight through them. A printed replacement gives the duct depth and a flowing shape, which markedly improves the realism of the front part of the model. Check which base Hornet kit the set is shaped for – the manufacturer makes versions for different kits.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, separate them carefully from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Paint the inside of the duct in a light color before you glue it in, ideally with an airbrush.
This is an accessory printed set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
