A cockpit set of the later form for a model of the General Dynamics F-111F in 1:48 scale. It replaces the cockpit from the kit with a more detailed assembly and completes it with 3D decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
The General Dynamics F-111 is an American two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing. The crew sits side by side in a cockpit which in an emergency separated as a whole escape capsule, so that the stations of the pilot and the navigator form one wide space. The F-111F version was the last tactical variant and it was used for precision strikes. The equipment of the cockpit changed during the service life and this set corresponds to the later form.
The set replaces the cockpit from the plastic kit with a more detailed assembly. The parts are not of polystyrene, they are glued with cyanoacrylate and their preparation before the build is described in the maker's instructions. The instrument surfaces are completed by 3D decals, whose application the instructions describe as well.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, as thin sections will take little force. Then wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on them. Before gluing, put the whole cockpit into the fuselage as a test and check whether the halves close up. It pays to paint it before it is fitted into the fuselage, because in a finished aircraft you can no longer reach into the corners.
The set is for modelers who are bothered by the simplified cockpit from the kit on a large model and want full detail under the canopy. Working with small parts and cyanoacrylate glue assumes a steady hand. There is no model, paints or glue in the package, unless stated otherwise.
