Big Ed is a package that combines several separate Eduard sets in 1:48 scale for the kit of the German Henschel Hs 129B attack aircraft by Takom. It is not an airplane model but a collection of detail accessories — to build it you need the base injection-molded Takom Hs 129B kit. The package brings color photo-etch and painting masks together in one box instead of separate sets.
Sets of this kind usually combine color photo-etch for the cockpit (instrument panels, side consoles, seat belts) with further photo-etched parts for the airframe and with a set of painting masks for the glazing and the wheels. The exact make-up matches the current Big Ed package for that kit.
The color photo-etched parts are often self-adhesive and are not painted over; bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a special adhesive for photo-etch and bend them over a sharp edge or in a bending tool. Lay the masks onto clean glazing, trim the excess with a fresh blade and take them off carefully after spraying. Work in a well-ventilated space.
