A resin and 3D-printed wheel set for the Soviet fighters of the Second World War Yak-7/9, La-5/7, LaGG-3, I-185 and MiG-3. It is NOT an airplane model but an accessory that replaces the landing gear wheels of the base plastic kit with more faithful castings. This variant captures tires with a tread pattern adapted to hard, dry airfields. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The types listed were among the main Soviet fighters of the Second World War. Besides field airstrips they also operated from firmer, dry surfaces, where tires with a different tread pattern were used. Faithful treatment of the wheels strongly affects the overall impression of a model on its base.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks and wash the mold release residue away. The tires can be lightly sanded where they touch the ground for a realistic impression of load. Separate the rims and tires by color, bring the tread pattern out with a dry brush and add a rather subtle dusty patina.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
