A set of self-adhesive painting masks from the maker Omask for models of the Soviet Yak-9 fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks are pre-cut from a thin self-adhesive film and follow the framing of the canopy and other elements that have to be masked while painting exactly. It is not paint and not a kit - it is an aid thanks to which you achieve clean edges without the slow cutting of masking tape. The cut is based on the ICM kit; on a model from another maker the set need not fit.
Lift the masks off the sheet with tweezers and press them onto a clean, degreased surface. Press the edges down thoroughly so that no paint creeps under the film. Lay the paint on in thin coats with an airbrush and remove the mask while the coat is still fresh; that gives you the sharpest edge.
The set is intended for modelers who want precise glazing and clean transitions on this model without laborious hand masking.
