About product

Ju 88 tail wheel, late type (1:48, 3D print)

This small accessory set in 3D-printed resin contains the late type rear tail wheel for a model of the Junkers Ju 88 in 1:48 scale. Thanks to 3D printing the wheel has a faithful tire tread and a well defined hub and fork. The wheel is prepared for the Ju 88 kit from ICM.

The real subject

The Junkers Ju 88 was a multi-purpose German twin-engined aircraft used as a bomber, a night fighter and a reconnaissance machine. The rear of the landing gear was a small tail wheel whose design changed during production between early and late types.

Building and painting tips

Separate the part from the print support, clean it up gently and wash it. It is bonded with super glue. Paint the tire a matte dark gray and the hub and fork in the shade of the landing gear.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of the Ju 88 in 1:48
  • Anyone interested in a faithful late type tail wheel
  • Modelers fine-tuning landing gear detail

This is an accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
