A corrected nose cone for the MiG-29K carrier fighter in 1:48 scale, prepared as a replacement for the part from the kit by HobbyBoss.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-29K is the carrier version of the MiG-29 fighter, adapted for operation from an aircraft carrier. The tip of the fuselage is formed by the conical radar cone, whose shape is crucial to the overall impression of a model. The nose is precisely one of those places where kits most often show deviations from the real outline, and a modeler's eye spots them even from a distance.
A corrected nose cone in 1:48 scale, prepared as a replacement for the corresponding part from the MiG-29K kit by HobbyBoss. The part is fitted in place of the original fuselage tip and corrects its outline.
Cut the original kit part off as the instructions describe and level the cut surface. The replacement part is not polystyrene, plastic cement has no effect on it and it is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully so that the shape is not spoiled. Wash and degrease the part before painting, or the paint will not hold well. Fill the seam between the part and the fuselage and sand it smooth. If the package also contains flat colored elements, follow the Quinta Studio instructions when applying them.
For the modeler who is bothered by the nose outline from the box and is willing to pick up a saw, filler and sandpaper because of it. The set does not contain a kit, paints, filler or glue, unless stated otherwise.
