The Mi-24V is the most widely produced version of the Soviet attack helicopter, which, besides fire support, could also carry a squad of troops. Under the forward fuselage it carried a movable gun turret designated USPU-24, fitted with the four-barreled 12.7 mm YakB machine gun. The weapon tracked its target independently of the fuselage, and its high rate of fire was one of the aircraft's identifying features. On models, the turret is the most prominent spot on the nose, so any improvement there stands out immediately.
The set replaces the kit's gun turret with a more accurate part featuring sharper barrel shapes and a finer surface. The manufacturer's included instructions give the scope of the parts and how they attach. The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling plastic cement has no effect on them, and they are joined with cyanoacrylate.
Cut away excess material with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so as not to nick the turret itself. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, or even the primer won't hold on the smooth surface. The machine-gun barrels are the assembly's most fragile part, so leave them for last and don't handle them during dry-fitting. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific assembly steps.
