This product is an aftermarket accessory, not an aircraft kit. The set contains resin landing gear wheels for models of the Japanese Mitsubishi F-1 attack aircraft and the T-2 trainer in 1:48 scale. Reskit casts the wheels with a fine tread pattern and a drawn-out hub; they are often made with a hint of load (a slightly flattened contact patch), so that once fitted the model looks truer, as if it were standing on the ground.
The Mitsubishi T-2 was a Japanese supersonic trainer, and the F-1 derived from it served as a light attack and anti-ship aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Both types share their structure and their landing gear, which is why one wheel set is made for both variants.
Separate the resin wheels from the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release residue and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). If the wheels are made as loaded, take care when fitting them that the flat contact patch is oriented correctly. Sand with respiratory protection; a fine mask or template helps bring out the pattern when spraying the tires and the hubs.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
