A 3D-printed resin cockpit set for the American fighter Republic P-47D-10/11 Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale, in the Detailed version. The set is intended to replace the cockpit of the injection-molded MiniArt kit - it is not a standalone model of an aircraft. The Detailed version has finely modeled instrument panels ready for hand painting, without ready-made 3D decals.
It replaces the kit cockpit with a thoroughly worked out tub, a seat with harness, side consoles and an instrument panel with raised dials. The early razorback versions of the Thunderbolt have a clearly visible interior, so a faithful cockpit shows markedly on the finished model.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. The Detailed version reckons with hand painting - use a primer, an airbrush on the base areas and bring the instruments to life with shading, a dry brush and a drop of gloss varnish on the dials.
This is a detail accessory for experienced modelers, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
