The set contains four precisely shaped pivoting underwing pylons made by modern 3D printing from resin in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a standalone aircraft model. The pylons replace the less detailed parts from the box and raise the fidelity of the external stores.
The FB-111 was the strategic strike version of the tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing. The pivoting pylons are a design peculiarity of this machine: as the sweep angle of the wing changes, they rotate so that the stores and tanks carried stay aligned with the direction of flight. It is exactly this detail that makes a model more striking and technically accurate.
First wash the parts free of any uncured resin, cut the 3D print supports away carefully and clean up the surfaces by sanding with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and use an airbrush; pick out the fine details with washes.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
