Six R-73L air-to-air guided missiles with their launchers in 1:48 scale from Quinta Studio. Meant for kits from various manufacturers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The R-73 is a Soviet and later Russian short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance. It is carried by fighters and attack aircraft of Eastern design and is typical armament for close-in combat. The R-73L form is one of the variants of this family. On a model it is a prominent external store that by itself tells you what aircraft and what period you are looking at.
The box contains six missiles including their launchers, in 1:48 scale. The parts have crisp edges on the fins and fine surface detail, which on the molded parts of a kit is usually lost. The set is meant for kits from various manufacturers, because it is fitted onto a pylon and calls for no change to the structure of the model.
The parts are not polystyrene, so join them with super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully so as not to damage the thin fins. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and use a base color. The missiles are more convenient to paint separately and to fit to the model only at the end. The particular procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions.
The set suits a modeler who wants armament better worked out than in the base kit, and also anyone building several aircraft who needs a consistent set of external stores. On a kit from another manufacturer, check in advance how the chosen mounting seats on the pylon. A kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
