This item is not a model of a helicopter but an accurate resin (3D-printed) replacement for the wheels of plastic Sikorsky S-55 / H-19 Chickasaw models in 1:48 scale. It replaces the factory parts with more faithfully shaped tires and detailed hubs. The Type 1 designation distinguishes a particular form of wheel from the Type 2 variant.
The tires have a loaded, slightly flattened contact patch imitating the weight of the machine and finely rendered tread patterns. The wheel hubs carry sharp details that injection-molded plastic manages only with difficulty.
Wash the parts free of residues of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
