A set of two large-capacity underwing fuel tanks of 1500 liters in 1:48 scale. It is a 3D-printed resin accessory by Reskit intended for models of the Panavia Tornado in the IDS and ECR versions. The tanks have the smooth welded surface typical of the aircraft of the Luftwaffe and the Italian Air Force, which matches reality better than the shapes from ordinary plastic kits.
The Panavia Tornado IDS is the strike version and the ECR the version for the suppression of enemy air defenses. With continental users both routinely carried large-capacity underwing tanks with a welded surface, which extended the range on strike and escort missions alike.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut them from the print supports and dry-fit them to the pylons. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Lay down a filler primer before spraying; the surface is ready for the airbrush.
This is an add-on detail set, not an aircraft model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
