A kit of the American T-38C supersonic trainer in 1:48 scale. A slim two-seater on which fighter pilots have been learning to fly since the late 1950s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The T-38 Talon is an American trainer built around a single idea: give the future fighter pilot a machine that behaves like a combat aircraft but costs a fraction as much. It appeared at the end of the 1950s, and the idea worked so well that it is still in service today. It has a thin wing of small area, a slender fuselage, two seats one behind the other and two afterburning turbojets, with which it passes the speed of sound without trouble. The version designated T-38C is the updated form with reworked cockpit equipment matching the instruments of today's combat aircraft. Besides training units, these machines also fly with the US space agency, where they keep crews in flying practice.
For a small aircraft, 1:48 gives a sensible size for the display case while still letting the cockpit stand out, and on a two-seater the cockpit is the most visible part of all.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the stub flat. Finish the cockpit and fit the glazing only once the interior is done; mask the clear parts before spraying, not after the paint has dried. Wash and degrease the model before painting. With a smooth gloss white or gray finish it pays to sand the surface perfectly, because every sanding scratch will show through the paint.
For modelers who build American aircraft and for collectors of trainers. Paints, glue and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
