Photo-etched 20mm Oerlikon guns of the US Navy in 1:700 from Flyhawk replace coarse plastic anti-aircraft guns with fine photo-etched parts. It is a photo-etched accessory, not a ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from Flyhawk is intended for detailing the light 20 mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns on US Navy warships of the Second World War. It is not a ship kit but a set of fine photo-etched parts with which you replace the coarse plastic guns and their mounts.
Oerlikon guns were among the most widespread light anti-aircraft armament on American ships and were found in large numbers all over the superstructure. In 1:700 scale the individual weapons are tiny and in plastic they have to be simplified; the photo-etched version gives the barrel, shield and mount a fineness that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
Separate the very small parts with a sharp knife, bend them in a photo-etch bender and glue them with a micro drop of cyanoacrylate. Given their size we recommend tweezers and working magnification. Once everything is assembled, apply primer and paint with an airbrush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
