A plastic kit of the modern American nuclear attack submarine USS San Francisco (SSN-711) in 1:700 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a full-hull model with a well-detailed hull, a plastic base and a nameplate. A decal sheet for the hull markings and instructions with a color scheme are included.
USS San Francisco belongs to the large Los Angeles class of nuclear fast attack submarines of the US Navy. These boats are intended to fight surface and submarine targets, for strike missions with guided missiles, for gathering intelligence and for search duties. Characteristic are the slender hull with its sail and the nuclear propulsion that allows long submerged patrols.
According to the instructions the sail and the masts can be assembled for surfaced or submerged running. The hull is made up of an upper and a lower half — sand the seams carefully. An airbrush is ideal for the uniform dark scheme of the hull; a matte clear coat will unify the surface. Set the model into the stand provided.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
