An injection-molded plastic kit of the American attack aircraft A-10 Thunderbolt II in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The box allows the A-10A version as well as the upgraded A-10C to be built. It is a classic injection-molded kit with a detailed cockpit and a rich choice of external stores, and it calls for ordinary modeling skills: cutting the parts from the sprues, cleaning up, gluing and painting. Check the exact number of parts and marking options against the particular box.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II was developed by Fairchild Republic in the 1970s as a specialized aircraft for close air support and for destroying ground equipment. Characteristic are the two turbofan engines mounted high beside the tail surfaces and above all the mighty seven-barrel 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger cannon. The tough structure and the armored bathtub around the pilot make the Warthog one of the most effective machines for destroying tanks. The A-10 proved itself in combat above all in the conflicts in the Persian Gulf.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit interior and the instrument panel and pick out their detail before closing up the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy while spraying. Lay a primer, apply the paints with an airbrush, place the decals over a gloss coat and bring out the panel lines with a wash. An attack aircraft suits reasonable wear and an emphasis on the weapon system.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
