A resin set of two AGM-62 Walleye II glide bombs and one data link pod in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A television camera in the nose, aiming at pronounced contrast and no engine at all. That is how the American Walleye worked: the pilot aimed the head at the target, confirmed the lock, the weapon released and flew on by its own momentum under its own correction. The Walleye II treatment was substantially heavier and bulkier than the original version and in the units it earned the nickname Fat Albert. They were carried by the carrier attack aircraft of the US Navy from Vietnam to the operations over the Persian Gulf.
The set holds two bombs and one data link pod, thanks to which the weapon could be watched and led onto the target even from an aircraft other than the one it was launched from. The castings are of resin and are executed in 1:72 scale; they are made by the Ukrainian firm Reskit.
The parts are separated from the casting blocks with a fine saw, not with cutters, because resin cracks. After cleaning it is advisable to rinse the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent, on which paint does not hold, come off the surface. The joints are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on this material. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection.
Weapons of this kind carried a light body with colored bands according to the type of filling and the lens of the sensor covered with clear glass. Before hanging it under the wing it pays to drill a slender hole into the body and glue a pin of wire into it; a smooth surface holds badly by itself and the joint likes to come loose when the finished model is handled.
