A set of replacement wheels for the model of the AMX light ground-attack aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AMX is a light ground-attack and reconnaissance aircraft that came out of Italian and Brazilian cooperation and carries the name Ghibli in the Italian Air Force. It is a single-seat machine with a high-mounted wing and nosewheel landing gear, built to support ground troops. In kits the landing gear wheels are usually done as two-part plastic moldings, on which the parting seam runs straight across the tread of the tire and across the hub.
The package brings replacement wheels in 1:72 scale with a crisply rendered tread and with detail on the hub. The parts go in place of the original wheels from the kit and do away with the laborious cleaning up of a seam on a round surface. The tire and the hub can be painted separately, as the transition between them is clearly defined.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic has no effect on them; they are bonded with super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest away carefully so that the outline of the tire is preserved. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting and let them dry. The manufacturer's instructions state the exact way to prepare the parts. When fitting them, make sure the wheels stand vertically against the ground; if the tire has a flat spot molded in, that flat has to sit on the ground.
The set is for modelers who replace the most visible plastic parts with a finer alternative. It contains wheels only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
