Colored 3D elements for the cockpit of the German twin-engined heavy fighter of the early series in 1:72 scale. They cover the pilot's instrument panel, the rear station of the radio operator and gunner, the side surfaces and the restraint belts. The target kit is Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to pre-war thinking, the twin-engined Messerschmitt was to clear the way for the bombers, and its crews were among the elite. The early C series went into action over Poland, France and in the Battle of Britain, where it turned out that against single-engined fighters it needed protection itself. Heavy armament in the nose and long range remained strengths, though, which secured the machine a further career.
The crew was a pilot and, behind him, a radio operator who worked a flexible machine gun to the rear. Both sat under common glazing, with the radio equipment and walkways between them. The sheet turns that into a fully fitted space: a front panel with distinguished dials, side consoles, a rear panel with the radio operator's instruments, upholstery and belts. Printed gloss on the instrument glasses sets the dials apart from the surrounding metal with nothing having to be drawn in. The shapes of the panels match the Eduard kit.
The cockpit tub on a twin-engined machine is longer and narrower, so the elements settle better in sections from the rear forwards. The parts have to be free of grease and dry. Try the position dry first, so that the edge does not reach into the glued edge of the fuselage halves. Transfer the tiny placards with a dampened tweezer tip, otherwise they easily stick where they should not.
The glazing on this type is unusually long and reveals both seats including the space between them. That very gap tends to be empty on models, and here it gets equipment of its own.
