An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss BFC-2 Goshawk carrier fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale. The model is released by the Czech maker RS Models. It is a short-run kit; the box contains plastic parts, a clear part and a decal sheet for a US Navy squadron finish.
The Curtiss BFC-2 Goshawk was a single-seat US Navy carrier biplane of the first half of the 1930s, derived from the Curtiss Hawk fighter line. It served as a fighter-bomber with fixed landing gear and a radial engine and belonged to the last generation of Curtiss biplanes before all-metal monoplanes arrived. It wore the striking colorful markings of US Navy squadrons of the period.
With a short-run kit, dry-fit the parts, clean them up and fill the joints; glue with a thin plastic cement. Assembling a biplane calls for careful fitting of the interplane struts and possibly for adding bracing from thin wire or thread. Interwar US Navy color schemes are applied with an airbrush, and the decals go on a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
