An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, specifically the newer BM-21-1 variant mounted on the chassis of the Ural-4320 truck. The wheels are made of rubber and the box contains decals with two marking options. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The BM-21 Grad is a 122 mm multiple rocket launcher developed in the 1960s. The original configuration carried forty launch tubes on the chassis of the Ural-375D truck and entered service in 1963. The newer BM-21-1 variant on the Ural-4320 family of trucks is an upgrade with a more current chassis. The Grad is used for rapid area fire with a large number of rockets and has become one of the most widespread rocket launchers in the world.
In the small 1:72 scale, glue the parts precisely with thin cement for plastic. Degrease the rubber wheels before painting and use a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold well. Assemble the bank of launch tubes carefully and symmetrically. Paint with an airbrush over a primer in a single-color khaki or in a three-color camouflage; bring out the recesses and the chassis with a dark wash and dust them down with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
