1:72 British aircraft mechanics with a SUU-23 gun pod on a transport trolley make up a three-figure scene of ground crew. The pod is worked out with the gun bay open and closed.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a complete scene from the ramp: according to the name three figures of mechanics, a SUU-23 gun pod of 20 mm caliber and the transport trolley on which the load is brought to the aircraft. With the pod the manufacturer reckons on both an open and a closed bay, so you can choose whether the scene captures work on the weapon or only its transport under the wing.
A pod of this kind carries a rotary cannon and its ammunition supply and is hung on the station of an aircraft that lacks a built-in gun. British crews reached for this solution on their machines derived from American types, where it proved the quickest way to make up a missing cannon. Handling it was always work for several people and a transport trolley belonged to it inseparably.
Lay all the elements out dry on a piece of paper first and only then reach for cyanoacrylate glue. The metal parts of the pod look convincing noticeably darker than their surroundings, ideally with a suggestion of wear on the edges. The wheels of the trolley will benefit from dry pigment dust, which ties the whole group to the base.
This is equipment for the ramp, not the aircraft itself.
