What the set offers

The set dresses the interior of the kit in a finished color scheme. The film elements are printed three-dimensionally, so they have modeled depth: the gauges are recessed, the stitching and the texture of the upholstery stand above the surface and the colors come finished from the maker. Painting the instrument panel, the door panels and the belts by hand, the most time-consuming part of the work on a car cabin, falls away.

Applying the films and the metal elements

The film elements are printed on backing decal paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the part from the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide it off the paper into place. Go over the base beforehand with a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 kind, on which the element holds; on a broken-up surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as it attacks the printed resin. The metal elements that the set adds already carry an adhesive layer, by contrast, and do not belong in water; just do not bend them before you press them down.

Building tips

Finish the interior before you join the tub to the body, as after that you can no longer get inside. Paint the parts beforehand, coat them with a gloss varnish and let them dry. Adjust the position of a slid element with a brush while the base is still damp, soak the surplus water up with a cloth and only then press the element down from the center to the edges, so that no air is left under it.
