A cobblestone street base in 1:72 is a finished resin board with cobbled paving measuring roughly eleven by seven centimeters, ready for a small model or scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The board cast in resin represents a piece of urban roadway paved with cobbles. According to the manufacturer the area is approximately eleven by seven centimeters, which in 1:72 scale corresponds to roughly eight meters of real street in length. The casting is finished in one piece, so there is no need to assemble the groundwork from sections.
At this scale eight meters of roadway will take a medium tank with room around the hull, a truck or a small group of infantry. Paving is a rewarding surface mainly because it carries a story on its own: the cobbles undulate, mud collects between them and the marks of tracks cut into them differently than into smooth asphalt. The board can be set into a wooden frame or built around with a piece of sidewalk and the facade of a house.
The usual basis is a gray spray, into which the shades of individual cobbles are then set so that the area does not look uniform. A darker glaze will run into the gaps and deepen the surface at once; a dry brush, by contrast, will lift the worn tops of the cobbles. Dust pigments along the edges and in the wheel ruts will give the street a lived-in look. Damp patches between the cobbles then suggest the mood of a rainy day.
