1:72 Confederate Infantry American Civil War

Confederate Infantry - the American Civil War, 1:72 scale, Italeri

A plastic set of unassembled, unpainted figures of the infantry of the Confederate States of America in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic set of figures in various combat and marching poses, suitable for building, painting and building dioramas of the American Civil War period. Italeri is a long-established Italian manufacturer of plastic models and figures.

The real subject

The Confederate infantry formed the backbone of the army of the Southern states during the American Civil War (1861-1865). The soldiers wore gray or grayish uniforms and were armed mostly with muzzle-loading rifles with a bayonet. The figures capture typical poses of infantrymen in combat, firing and on the march.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the figures from the sprue and clean up the mold parting lines (the flash).
• On softer plastic use a suitable cement or super glue; apply a primer before painting.
• Paint with acrylic paints - a base coat, shadows into the folds and dry brushing on the edges.
• Bring the gray uniforms to life by picking out the equipment, the belts and the rifles.

Who the set is for

• For modelers and builders of dioramas of the American Civil War.
• For wargamers playing this era in 1:72 scale.
• For collectors of historical figures.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
