Injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian fighter biplane Fiat CR.32 Freccia in 1:72 scale from Italeri. This is a model of a classic subject, appreciated by modelers with an interest in interwar aviation. The package includes plastic parts and a decal sheet for several marking options; paints, glue and other accessories are not included.
The Fiat CR.32 was an Italian single-seat fighter biplane designed in the first half of the 1930s by engineer Celestino Rosatelli. It was powered by a liquid-cooled Fiat A.30 V-12 producing around 600 horsepower, giving it a speed of over 350 km/h. The aircraft was known for its agility and sturdy construction, and it became famous especially as a fighter of the Aviazione Legionaria during the Spanish Civil War, where it was among the most successful types of its era. It remained in service into the start of the Second World War and was also used by other countries.
Use a thin liquid modeling cement for the plastic, and clean up the fuselage and wing joints with fine sandpaper. With a biplane, pay attention to precisely fitting the upper wing and the struts — a dry fit before gluing helps. We recommend adding rigging (the bracing wires between the wings) from thin thread or stretched line only after painting; the result significantly boosts realism. Build up the base color with an airbrush over a primer and highlight the panel lines with a subtle wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
