The kit captures one of the world's first jet fighters in the clear 1:72 scale. The Vampire Mk.3 is characterized by its twin-boom tail and short fuselage powered by a centrifugal-flow engine, which makes it one of the most easily recognized aircraft of the first jet generation. The European and American Operators boxing concentrates on operators outside the home Royal Air Force.
The DH.100 Vampire was a British single-seat first-generation jet fighter powered by a de Havilland Goblin engine with a centrifugal compressor. The Mk.3 version received more fuel and a modified tail for a longer range. It was precisely the Mk.3 machines that became the very first jet aircraft in service with the air forces of Norway and Mexico. Vampires also served with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force and were exported to a number of other countries in the late 1940s.
Pay attention to a clean fit of both tail booms and to the exact seating of the canopy. Metallic and silver shades suit the early jet schemes, and on the export machines the national markings of the individual operators follow the version you choose. A base coat is worth applying so that the panel lines and the prominent markings on the wings stand out better.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
