Color three-dimensional cockpit interior elements for a model of the carrier-based F-8E Crusader fighter in 1:72 scale. The set is prepared for the kit from the Academy company.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-8E Crusader was an American carrier-based fighter that became famous for its wing with a variable angle of incidence. On take-off and landing aboard ship the wing was raised, so the aircraft could fly more slowly without the pilot losing his view over the nose. The Crusader also remained one of the last fighters to build its armament on guns.
The set offers color interior elements with three-dimensional relief for a cockpit in 1:72 scale. In this scale the cockpit tends to be the hardest part of a model, because the instruments are difficult to paint. The elements are shaped to the parts of the kit from the Academy company and are seated on the instrument panel and the side panels. The color is finished, so there is no mixing of shades and no filling in of tiny dials.
Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive. The method of application differs between ranges and is given in the instructions supplied with the set. First spray the cockpit parts with a base color and let them dry. Move the elements with tweezers or a stick with a moistened tip and settle them with a cotton bud. In 1:72 it pays to have a magnifier at hand.
The set will please modelers who want to open the canopy even on a small model and show a legible interior. The package holds interior elements only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
