This is a detail set, not an aircraft model. The set holds a 3D printed replica of the equipment of the German FuG 101 radio altimeter in 1:72 scale. The parts replace the missing or simplified rendering of that system on plastic kits and add fine, scale-accurate detail to a model.
The FuG 101 was a German radio altimeter that allowed accurate measurement of height above the ground, which was valuable above all on low-level raids and night operations. The external evidence of the system was the small antenna elements on the underside of the airframe. A faithful rendering rounds out the realistic look of Luftwaffe aircraft.
Separate the fine parts carefully from the print supports and clean the surfaces up. Gluing with super glue is recommended. Fine antennas are best fitted at the end of the build and painted separately before gluing, so that they do not get damaged.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
