A resin set in 1:72 scale from Reskit representing the American GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided aircraft bomb. This is not a model in its own right but a detail accessory, part of the external stores, to be hung on a suitable combat aircraft model.
The GBU-12 Paveway II is a laser-guided bomb that comes about by adding a guidance kit, a laser seeker head and tail controls, to a conventional bomb. It is used for precision strikes against ground targets and it is widespread on a number of Western tactical aircraft.
Wash the resin parts free of release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand them, with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray a primer on before painting; the fine detail of the seeker head and the fins comes out well with a wash to bring it out.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. A suitable base aircraft kit is needed to use it.
