Two units of the French Gnome-Rhone 14N/K radial engine in 1:72 scale. The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Gnome-Rhone 14 is a French fourteen-cylinder radial engine with two rows of cylinders that powered a whole range of French aircraft in the thirties. The 14N form was among the later and more powerful versions of the family. On a model the engine is visible in the mouth of the cowling, and it is precisely its cylinders and pushrods that injection-molded kits simplify the most.
The package brings two complete engine units in 1:72 scale. The parts are not polystyrene, they are bonded with super glue and how to prepare them before building is described in the manufacturer's instructions. The manufacturer intends the set for models of the Bloch MB.200, the MB.210 and the late MB.152.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down, and go carefully on the thin pushrods. Then wash and degrease the parts before painting, as paint will not hold on a greasy surface. Paint the engine and test how it sits before you put the cowling on. The cylinders suit a darker metallic shade with dry brushing along the edges; leave the crankcase lighter so that the radial opens out to the eye.
The set is for modelers of French aircraft of the thirties who are bothered by an empty or coarse cowling mouth. Working with small parts calls for tweezers and a steady hand. The model, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
