An add-on propeller spinner for a model of the Soviet Lavochkin La-7 fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the part from the kit with a more accurate shape for the front of the fuselage.

The Lavochkin La-7 was one of the most capable Soviet fighters of the closing stage of the Second World War. It grew out of the earlier La-5FN, had a radial engine and a prominent spinner closing off its nose. It is the shape of the nose that gives an La-7 model its character, because that is where the outline of the engine cowling meets the outline of the spinner and every inaccuracy shows at first glance.
The set brings a replacement propeller spinner for 1:72 scale. Compared with the part from the kit it offers a cleaner shape and a crisper surface transition, so the long job of sanding and filling falls away. The part is intended for La-7 models; before buying, check the diameter of the seat and the way the propeller is mounted on your particular kit.
The part is not polystyrene, so glue it with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest down carefully, so that the symmetrical outline of the spinner is preserved. Wash and degrease the part before painting. It pays to dry-fit it onto the finished cowling, check that the outlines follow on and take up any gap by sanding the base rather than the tip. It can be painted separately and fitted only when the work is done, which keeps the surroundings clean; the exact preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers of Soviet fighters who are bothered by an inaccurate nose on the kit, and by builders who want to improve the result with one small replacement without touching the rest of the model.
