A resin detail set in 1:72 scale from Reskit. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory: a set of accurately cast main landing gear wheels for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf-109G. The tires are in the type 2 version and have a weighted lower part, which imitates the compression under the weight of a standing aircraft. The wheels are glued in place of the plastic parts of matching kits in the same scale.
The Bf-109G was the backbone of the German fighter force in the second half of the war. The wheels differed between production batches in the tread of the tire and in the hub design; type 2 covers one of the alternative patterns. Choosing the right type of wheel is exactly what helps to capture a particular machine faithfully.
Before gluing, wash the parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up with respiratory protection. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer, even the tires out with a flat blackish gray and bring out the tread; finish the hubs according to the scheme you have chosen and end with pigments for a dust effect.
The resin detail accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
